MISSIONS

The Great Commission, in full

Poetry on Fire writes the Word and lives the Word. Then comes the other half of the work: carrying it. We partner with ministries who take the Name of Jesus into the nations and then disciple every single person who answers Him.

Our evangelist, Philip, sits on that team. He coordinates, plans and partners with ministries who want the Name of Jesus to be known — not their own.

THE MODEL

Crusades — but with a twist

When crusades are spoken about, we usually hear numbers: how many thousands made a decision for Christ. We celebrate every one of them with all of Heaven. But while God’s heart beats for souls, it breaks for discipleship. “Go” was never the whole sentence. “Go and make disciples” is.

1. More than six months on the ground

Long before a crusade night, the work begins: working the soil, meeting the pastors of the area, listening, praying, and building real relationship with the local church.

2. Pastors and churches equipped

Training and impartation in Biblical discipleship — which is not a course to complete and file away. It is a lifestyle to live, and then to hand on.

3. Then the crusade

Only once the ground is ready and the local church is prepared to receive, do the crusades happen. The harvest is gathered into hands that are ready to carry it.

4. Every salvation discipled

Every person who says yes to Jesus is welcomed into a local church, walked with, discipled into maturity and looked after long after the lights go down. Not converts. Disciples.

OUR PARTNERS

Who we partner with — and why

We do not partner with everyone, and that is deliberate. We stand with ministries who carry the Name of Jesus and not their own; who measure maturity rather than attendance; who hand the harvest to the local church instead of holding on to it; and who are still there long after the crusade is over.

That is where your partnership goes. Not into a platform, but into people who will still be walking with Jesus in five years’ time.

MISSIONS FEEDBACK

From the field

Reports from the ground, posted day by day as they happen — so you can see exactly what your partnership is doing.

Next — Pakistan

4 – 12 September 2026. Philip flies out to begin the groundwork with The Cross Ministries — pastors’ conferences, church partnership, humanitarian aid and a borehole. This is the working of the soil that happens long before any crusade night, and it is the part almost nobody sees. Reports will follow from the field as he goes.

Completed — Burundi

July 2026. Eight days of reports from the ground, and more than 1,200 people who said yes to Jesus — every one of them welcomed into a local church to be discipled into maturity. Not counted and left. You can still read it day by day.

PARTNERSHIP

Stand with what Jesus is doing

The Gospel is free. Getting it to the nations is not. Partnership carries the groundwork, the equipping of pastors, the crusades, the discipleship materials, the books in the making (The Untamed Lion by Philip Strauss and Choose Your Hard by Marilé Strauss), and the platforms that take these words further than we could on our own.

Become a Wildfire

Sign up as a Wildfire and our free e-book on the power of partnership lands straight in your inbox — a free gift as you join us, and a beautiful thing Jesus revealed about Biblical partnership. No commitment from you. Just be a wildfire, spread the gospel of Jesus in your own region, and receive our encouraging emails.

At Poetry on Fire we create materials, books and courses, we provide discipleship and church-growth courses to ministries, and we fund missions in unreached areas like Burundi and Pakistan — carried by the faithful commitment of our partners. The gospel is free, but getting it out there is not.

The power of partnership is clearly defined in the Word and in the life of Jesus. If you feel led, and you believe in what God has led this ministry to focus on, partner with us. It is a two-way street — see our partnership page for exactly what partnership with this ministry entails, including a partner portal with access to materials, courses, books and more.
