From leadership training to hands on crusading…
Today, Philip had the privilege of ministering at Olivia University in Bujumbura, sharing from Isaiah 11 on the sevenfold Spirit of God and calling students to become Kingdom builders who transform every sphere of society.
Even across languages, the Holy Spirit moved. His presence is never limited by words, because “not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). We welcomed a beautiful presence of the Lord invited by the hunger of the students to know Him, and an acapella, spontaneous worship session broke out. These students are not called to make money, they are called to take Jesus into the marketplace. Today, Holy Spirit revealed this purpose to them. Burundi will never be the same. Watch this space for supernatural economic growth, inventions and patents and solutions coming from the Heart of Africa. Why? Because no man told them that. It was revealed by the Father Himself. What an honour to be a vessel in the Master’s hands… He alone is glorified.
Tonight jesus is the only one on the stage
Tonight…Tonight is the first crusade. There is an unmistakable sense that Heaven is drawing near, and we are about to experience Heaven on Earth…. The presence of God is tangible. His glory is so evident that we are reminded of those moments in Scripture when the priests could not remain standing because the glory of the Lord filled the temple (2 Chronicles 5:13 to 14; 1 Kings 8:10 to 11).
It is beautiful. People are streaming in, not because of a stage, lights, or an event, but because Jesus Himself is drawing people to the Father (John 12:32). No one can come unless He draws them (John 6:44), and tonight we are witnessing that invitation unfold before our eyes. It is so humbling to realise once again that we are His bondservants – here to serve only Jesus and make Him known.
I am reminded of Psalm 8:4-9 NKJV
[4] What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? [5] For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. [6] You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, [7] All sheep and oxen— Even the beasts of the field, [8] The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. [9] O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
How amazing is it that God chose us, mere men, to share the Greatest Lifestory ever told? Why us? Falling short so regularly, wanting to do good but many times just ends up choosing the wrong thing (like Paul shared).
A perfect God using imperfect people. Thank You Jesus that You look at the heart, that You choose us, and that you continue drawing hearts towards you. We lay down our crowns, we clear the stage to crush every idol in our lives. “Pray for real on your knees until they blister. Shine a light on every corner of your life until the pride and lust and lies are in the open. Read the Word and put to test the things you’ve heard until your heart is stirred and rocked and broken… Jerk the pews and all the decorations too until the congregation’s fueled and have REVIVAL. Then seek the Lord and wait for what He has in store, for great is your Reward so just be hopeful. Because we can sing all we want to, yes, we can sing all we want to…and still get it wrong… Worship is more than a song…” – Jimmy Needham. This song has become powerfully real here in Burundi. We truly are living for the Audience of One. Not for a man. Not a ministry. Not even a cause. It is all about Jesus!
The soil
The preparation of the soil in Burundi has been remarkable. Every conversation, every prayer walk, every act of service, every encouraging message, every shared post, every seed sown, and every faithful prayer has been part of what God has been doing long before the first person steps onto the field.
One plants, another waters, but it is God who gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6 to 7). We know that His Word never returns empty (Isaiah 55:11). As the Gospel is preached, we believe miracles, signs, and wonders will follow, confirming His Word (Mark 16:20). Not because of any person, but because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Please stand with us in prayer. Pray that hearts would be open. Pray that lives would be transformed. Pray for miracles, salvations, healing, freedom, and restoration.
Above all, pray that Jesus alone would be glorified, that He would be the only One seen, experienced, and remembered. “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
All glory belongs to Jesus.
