SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
We are here to serve you
Wherever people gather to hear the Word, that is where we want to be.
WHY WE COME
The Word was always meant to be carried

Jesus did not write a book and wait for people to find it. He walked into homes, sat at tables, stood on hillsides and in synagogues, and met people exactly where they were. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). Everything we do at Poetry on Fire flows from that. We write so the Word can reach you on a page, and we come so it can reach you in a room.
Peter put it like this: “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10). The Greek word for minister there is diakoneō, and at its root it described the one who waited at tables. The servant who made sure every guest was fed. That is the posture we come in. We are not coming to perform or to fill a slot on your programme. We are coming to serve your people the Word, and to make sure no one leaves the table hungry.
WHO WILL COME
“Where two or more gather in His Name, Jesus is There…”

Philip Strauss is our evangelist. He carries a burning heart for souls and for the kind of discipleship that lasts long after the event ends. He coordinates our missions to places like Burundi and Pakistan, leads our Brotherhood stream for men, and is the author of The Untamed Lion which will be released soon. Watch this space. Inspiring both men and women with his passion for Christ, he is not limited in any capacity. Living unashamedly for Jesus burns in his heart, and he will stir you to action, a life in Christ, and a sustained commitment to discipleship.
Marilé Strauss has spent years in both full-time ministry and the marketplace, leading teams across nonprofit and commercial environments. She leads our women’s stream, True Talk True Vine, writes the daily #Wordfortheday, and is the author of Choose Your Hard. She speaks to the place where faith meets Monday morning. Speaking to both men and women, there is no limit to who Jesus wants to touch. Being a doer of the Word is at the core of what the Lord has laid on her heart, and that is why the practical application of Biblical discipleship is central to what God wants to bring through this message.
Noa Strauss is prophetic, gentle and radical in her love for Jesus. She leads our Pastors’ Kids stream and ministers alongside her parents, carrying the heart of the next generation into every room we are invited into.
Depending on your gathering, Philip or Marilé may come, or we may come together as a family.

Hear the heart before you invite us
Philip and Marilé were guest ministers on Discovering Truth on Kruiskyk TV. Each clip starts where the teaching begins, so you can get a feel for how we open the Word before you reach out.

HOW WE SERVE
Every setting, one message
Church services and events
Sunday services, midweek meetings, revival nights, church anniversaries and special events. We come alongside your pastors and leadership to bring the Word to your congregation, to minister to people at the altar and to strengthen what God is already building in your house.
Intimate gatherings
Home fellowships, cell groups and small circles of friends. These are often the most precious rooms we are invited into, because there is space to ask, to share, to pray over people by name and to minister to each person personally.
Group panels
Conversations on faith, marriage, family, leadership and what it looks like to live the Word when life is complicated. We welcome questions from the floor, including the hard ones.
Women’s ministry
Breakfasts, conferences, retreats and women’s evenings. Teaching and encouragement for women who are carrying a great deal and need to be reminded Whose they are.
Men’s ministry
Straight talk from the Word for men who want to lead their homes, their work and their own hearts well. No pretending, no posturing, just men sharpening men as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).
Ministers’ training
Pastors, leaders and ministry teams equipped in Biblical discipleship, leadership and church growth. Discipleship is not a course to complete but a lifestyle to live, and we train from that conviction.
Business breakfasts
The Word in the marketplace, from people who have led teams, sat in boardrooms and carried real operational responsibility. For business owners and professionals who believe Jesus belongs in how they lead, decide and treat people from Monday to Friday.
Encouragement
For the church, team or community walking through a hard season. Sometimes a group does not need a series or a programme. They need someone to come, open the Word with them, and remind them that He remains faithful.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Rooted in the Word, led by the Spirit
Everything we bring is built on Scripture. We open the Word, we go back to the original language where it deepens our understanding, and we bring it into everyday life so that people can walk out and live it the next morning.
Before we come, we pray for your people. We would rather arrive having carried your gathering before the Lord than arrive with a prepared talk and no burden for the room. We will ask you about your group, what season they are in and what you are trusting God for, and we will prepare with that in mind.
We are not interested in stirring people up for an evening and leaving them where they were. The heart of Poetry on Fire is discipleship. Where it fits, we will leave your group with a way to keep walking in what God spoke, whether that is a follow-up resource, a devotional or a simple next step.
THE COST
Paid in full
“Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8). The Greek word Jesus used there is dōrean, meaning as a gift, without payment. He sent His disciples out with nothing to sell, because what they carried was never theirs to put a price on.
On the cross Jesus said tetelestai, “It is finished.” In the ancient world that same word was written across receipts. Paid in full.
We do not have a price to minister Jesus to you and your group. Jesus already paid the price.
Where our personal sessions are ongoing pastoral care, speaking is ministry to a gathering, and that we give freely. Where an event is further afield, we will talk openly with you about travel, and trust God to make the way.
HOW IT WORKS
From your vision to the room
01
Reach out
Fill in the form below and tell us a little about your gathering. It does not need to be finalised. A date and a heart for your people is enough to begin.
02
We chat through your vision
We will set up a call or a coffee to hear what God has put on your heart for this group, who will be there and what you are hoping for.
03
We pray and prepare
We take your group before the Lord and prepare the Word for them specifically, not for an audience in general.
04
We come and serve
On the day, event, conference, retreat, we come to minister, to pray with people and to leave your group with something to keep walking in.
ENQUIRE
Tell us about your gathering
COME CLOSER
Your people matter to God
Whether it is twelve women around a kitchen table or a hall full of leaders, your people matter to God, and they matter to us. We would love to hear what He is stirring in you.
