“And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.”
Exodus 3:2 NKJV
Meet the burning protea, the symbol that sits beside our name.
When Moses turned aside at Horeb, God spoke to him out of the fire and told him to take off his sandals, because the ground he stood on was holy. We wanted a burning bush from our own mountains. So the protea, the flower of our fynbos, carries a fire in its heart.
Look closely. The protea is black, like the word Wildfire in our name. The fire is ember red, like The and Co. And at the center sits a gold heart, the same gold as the small flame on the i of fire. Poetry on Fire always carried a protea. In The Wildfire Co. that protea has caught alight.
The part of the story that is easiest to miss is the one we love most. The bush burned, and it was not consumed. God’s fire does not use you up or burn you out. It burns in you and leaves you standing, and it turns ordinary ground into holy ground.
Let His Word spread like wildfire
It starts with the fire He kindles in you. Today, turn aside like Moses did. Put your phone in another room for ten minutes, read Exodus 3:1-6, and simply be with Him.
Stay close to Jesus, Wildfires.
