“For love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as the grave; its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it.”
Song of Songs 8:6-7 NKJV
The second word that carries The Wildfire Co. is the Love.
The Hebrew behind “a most vehement flame” is one word, shalhevetyah. Shalhevet is a flame. Yah is the short form of the Name of God. The Song hardly names God at all, and here He is, tucked inside the word for flame. Read plainly, it says this love is the very flame of the LORD.
That is the love we mean. It burns in His heart first, and then it reaches ours. Many waters cannot quench it. Whatever has gone over your head this year has not put it out.
A Wildfire cannot burn with zeal alone. Zeal without love burns people. The fire of the Word has to carry the heart of the One who spoke it, so we want our fire to look like Jesus. Patient with the slow, gentle with the wounded, and fierce about truth because He is fierce about people.
Let His Word spread like wildfire
It starts with the fire He kindles in you. Today, think of someone who is hard to love right now. Do one kind thing for them that they could never repay.
Stay close to Jesus, Wildfires.
